CAMCO was chosen by a large union electrical contractor to provide independent electric acceptance testing at a new state of the art science complex at a large university. The buildings overall cost was $240,000,000 and covered over 300,000 square feet. The complex electrical system was fed by several pad mount, oil filled transformers feeding 15kV switchgear which then fed two 5000-amp, 480-volt double-ended indoor substations.
Over 13 weeks, CAMCO's field service crews tested 4 pad mounted oil filled transformers, several 15kV vacuum breakers, 75 480-volt draw-out breakers, over 800 molded case circuit breakers along with automatic transfer switches, dry type transformers, cable testing, ground testing and relay protection.
